Possible Causes
Float stuck in low position, Float magnet missing, Water level sensor corroded, Tank not depressing internal valve fully
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF and unplug the humidifier before inspecting the float or sensor.
- Step 1 – Remove tank and inspect float: Locate the float in the base. Ensure it moves freely and is not obstructed by mineral deposits or debris.
- Step 2 – Clean float and well: Soak the float and its well in a vinegar solution to dissolve scale, then rinse thoroughly.
- Step 3 – Check magnet and sensor: If the float uses a magnet, verify it is still attached. Inspect the reed switch or sensor for corrosion or broken leads.
- Step 4 – Verify tank seating: Fill the tank fully, tighten the cap, and place it squarely on the base. Ensure it presses down any internal valve or switch actuator.
- Step 5 – Replace float or sensor if faulty: Install the correct AIRCARE float assembly or water level sensor for your model if the original is damaged.
After repair, the low-water indication should clear when the tank is full and properly seated.
