Possible Causes
Burned-out fan motor, Seized fan bearings, Faulty fan capacitor (if used), Broken fan wiring or connector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit. The compressor and nearby components may be hot.
Steps to fix fan not running:
- 1. Spin fan by hand: With power off, try to rotate the fan blade. If stiff or stuck, the fan motor is likely seized.
- 2. Check wiring: Inspect the fan motor harness and connector for damage. Reseat the connector on the main PCB.
- 3. Capacitor (if present): Some motors use a run capacitor. If the motor hums but does not start, test and replace the fan capacitor if faulty.
- 4. Replace fan motor: If the motor is open-circuit or seized, replace it with the correct Ariston fan motor assembly.
- 5. Do not run without fan: Operating the compressor without airflow can cause overheating and damage.
