Mechanical Noise / Fan or Mounting Fault
Dehumidifier makes loud rattling or grinding noise during operation

Possible Causes
Loose fan blade on motor shaft, Worn fan motor bearings, Loose compressor mounting bolts, Vibrating plastic panels
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before removing covers. Beware of sharp metal edges.
Steps to reduce noise:
- 1. Identify noise source: Run the unit briefly with the cover removed (only if you can do so safely) to locate whether the noise comes from the fan, compressor, or cabinet.
- 2. Check fan blade: With power off, spin the fan by hand. Tighten the set screw or clip if the blade is loose on the shaft. Replace the fan blade if cracked or warped.
- 3. Inspect fan motor: If the fan feels rough or wobbly, the fan motor bearings may be worn and the motor should be replaced.
- 4. Compressor mounts: Verify that rubber grommets and mounting bolts on the compressor are intact and tight. Replace damaged mounts.
- 5. Tighten panels: Tighten any loose screws on the cabinet. Add foam tape between vibrating plastic parts if needed.
