Dehumidifier displays E6 and does not respond properly to button presses; some keys may not work

Safety: Disconnect the appliance from mains power before opening the control panel.

Steps to address E6:

• 1. Power cycle: Unplug for 5 minutes, then reconnect. If E6 returns, proceed.
• 2. Remove the control fascia: Unscrew and gently lift the top/front control panel where the display and buttons are located. Be careful not to tear the ribbon cable.
• 3. Inspect the ribbon cable: Check for kinks, cuts, or discoloration. Reseat both ends of the cable (UI board and main PCB) by unplugging and plugging back in.
• 4. Check for moisture or corrosion: Look for signs of water ingress around the control panel. If present, dry the area thoroughly and clean light corrosion with isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush.
• 5. Test button response: Reassemble loosely, reconnect power, and test all buttons. If some keys still do not respond and E6 persists, the user interface board is likely faulty.
• 6. Replace UI board if needed: Order the correct Ariston display/control panel assembly for your model. Transfer any seals or gaskets to maintain moisture protection.
• 7. If a new UI does not resolve E6: The main control board may have a communication fault and will need replacement by a technician.
