Possible Causes
Open or shorted humidifier NTC sensor, Sensor dislodged from heater or mist chamber, Damaged sensor wiring, Failed control board sensor circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and allow it to cool before opening the humidifier section. Hot surfaces can cause burns.
Steps to address F1:
- 1. Reset: Disconnect power for 10 minutes, then reconnect. If F1 returns, proceed.
- 2. Access humidifier module: Remove the water tank and any covers to expose the mist generator or heating element area.
- 3. Locate the NTC sensor: It is usually clipped to the heater block or mist chamber with two wires leading to the control board.
- 4. Inspect and reseat: Ensure the sensor is firmly attached and wiring is intact. Reseat the connector on the PCB.
- 5. Test sensor (optional): Measure resistance at room temperature; an open or short reading indicates failure.
- 6. Replace if faulty: Install a new humidifier NTC temperature sensor compatible with your Ariston model.
- 7. If sensor is good: The control board’s sensor circuit may be defective, requiring main control board replacement.
