Possible Causes
Water leak into base tray, Triggered leak sensor or float, Cracked water tank, Misaligned tank causing overflow into base
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit immediately if you suspect a leak. Water and electricity are a dangerous combination.
Steps to address F3:
- 1. Remove the tank: Take out the water tank and inspect the base for standing water.
- 2. Dry the base: Use towels to soak up water in the base tray. Allow the unit to air dry completely for several hours.
- 3. Inspect leak sensor: Many models have a small float or electrodes in the base. Ensure the float moves freely and is not stuck in the “full” position. Clean any scale or debris.
- 4. Check the tank for cracks: Fill the tank over a sink and look for drips from seams or the cap. Replace the water tank if it is cracked or deformed.
- 5. Verify seals and gaskets: Inspect O-rings and seals on the tank cap and outlet. Replace if hardened or damaged.
- 6. Reassemble and test: Once fully dry, reinstall the tank and power on. If F3 returns without visible water, the leak sensor or its wiring may be faulty and require replacement.
