Possible Causes
Full water bucket, Misaligned bucket not engaging switch, Stuck bucket float, Failed bucket full micro switch or sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off and unplug the dehumidifier before removing the bucket.
Steps to clear P1:
- 1. Empty the bucket: Remove the water bucket, empty it completely, and rinse to remove dirt or slime.
- 2. Check bucket placement: Reinsert the bucket firmly until it clicks or sits flush. Many Ariston units will show P1 if the bucket is not fully seated.
- 3. Inspect the float: Inside the bucket or on its side, locate the float that triggers the full switch. Ensure it moves freely and is not jammed by debris.
- 4. Check the bucket full switch: With the bucket removed and power disconnected, locate the bucket full micro switch in the base. Manually press the lever and listen for a click. If it feels stuck or does not click, it may be faulty.
- 5. Test continuity (optional): Use a multimeter to test the switch. Replace if it does not change state when actuated.
- 6. Replace switch if needed: Install a new bucket full switch compatible with your Ariston model, ensuring correct alignment with the bucket float.
