Blocked air inlets or outlets, Fan motor overheating, High ambient temperature, Failing thermal protector on compressor or heater
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Allow the unit to cool before touching internal components.
Steps:
- 1. Improve airflow: Move the unit away from walls and obstructions. Clean filters and grilles.
- 2. Check fan operation: Ensure the fan runs at full speed in both modes. Replace the fan motor if it is slow or stops intermittently.
- 3. Ambient temperature: Avoid operating the unit in very hot, confined spaces.
- 4. Thermal protectors: If the compressor or heater frequently trips its thermal protector, a technician should test and, if necessary, replace the compressor thermal protector or heater safety thermostat.
