Dehumidifier frequently turns on and off in short cycles

Steps:

• 1. Adjust setpoint: Set the target humidity a few percent lower than current room humidity to reduce rapid cycling.
• 2. Move unit: Place the dehumidifier in a larger or more open area if it is in a very small room.
• 3. Check for overheating: If the unit stops with a click and restarts after cooling, the compressor overload may be tripping. Clean coils and ensure good airflow.
• 4. Inspect humidity sensor: If readings jump rapidly, replace the humidity sensor module.
