Possible Causes
Seized fan motor bearings, Obstructed fan wheel, Faulty fan capacitor (if used), Defective fan motor winding
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before touching the fan. Do not attempt to spin the fan with power applied.
Steps:
- 1. Check for obstructions: Remove the cover and ensure nothing is blocking the fan blades.
- 2. Spin by hand: With power off, try to rotate the fan. If stiff, the motor bearings are likely worn; replace the motor.
- 3. Inspect capacitor (if present): Some fan motors use a start capacitor. Replace it if bulging or leaking.
- 4. Replace fan motor: If the motor hums but does not start even with a good capacitor and free blades, install a new Beko fan motor assembly.
