Possible Causes

Defective evaporator NTC sensor, Sensor dislodged from evaporator coil, Damaged sensor wiring, Faulty main control board sensor circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety warning: Disconnect the appliance from mains before opening any panels. Sharp metal edges may be present around the coil.

Steps:

  • 1. Reset attempt: Unplug for 10 minutes, then reconnect. If E2 reappears quickly, proceed.
  • 2. Access the evaporator: Remove the front grille and filter. Unscrew and remove the front housing to expose the evaporator (cold coil). The evaporator NTC sensor is usually clipped or taped to the coil tubing.
  • 3. Check sensor placement: Ensure the sensor bulb is firmly attached to the coil surface. If it has fallen off, reattach using aluminum tape or the original clip.
  • 4. Inspect wiring: Follow the two‑wire harness from the sensor to the main PCB. Look for cuts, crushed sections, or loose connectors. Reseat the connector on the PCB.
  • 5. Measure sensor resistance: With the unit unplugged and sensor disconnected, measure resistance. Compare to the ambient sensor; values should be similar at room temperature. Open circuit or 0 Ω indicates a bad sensor.
  • 6. Replace sensor if faulty: Order a Beko evaporator NTC sensor for your exact model. Remove the old sensor, install the new one in the same position on the coil, and reconnect.
  • 7. If error persists with a new sensor: The main PCB may not be reading the sensor correctly. Replacement of the control board is recommended and should be done by a professional.
