Possible Causes

Overheating of compressor or discharge line, Blocked air flow through condenser, Faulty high‑temperature sensor or thermal fuse, Refrigerant system issue causing abnormal temperatures

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit. Do not attempt to open the sealed refrigeration system or handle refrigerant yourself.

Steps:

  • 1. Check ventilation: Ensure the dehumidifier has at least 20–30 cm clearance on all sides. Remove any obstructions from the air intake and exhaust.
  • 2. Clean filters and coils: Remove and wash the air filter with mild soap and water. Let it dry completely. Use a soft brush or vacuum to clean dust from the condenser (warm coil) and evaporator (cold coil).
  • 3. Inspect ambient conditions: Very high room temperature or placing the unit near a heat source can trigger protection. Move the unit to a cooler, well‑ventilated area.
  • 4. Check temperature sensor on discharge line (if accessible): Some Beko models have a sensor or thermal fuse clipped to the compressor discharge pipe. Inspect for loose mounting or damaged wires. Reseat the connector on the PCB.
  • 5. Allow full cool‑down: Leave the unit unplugged for at least 30–60 minutes to allow the compressor to cool. Then reconnect and test.
  • 6. If E4 recurs quickly: There may be a failing compressor, blocked capillary, or faulty high‑temp sensor. These involve sealed‑system or high‑voltage work and should be diagnosed by a qualified refrigeration technician.
