Possible Causes
Cracked water tank, Damaged or missing tank cap gasket, Misaligned tank on base, Cracked base water chamber
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit immediately if water is leaking near electrical parts.
Inspection:
- Remove and inspect tank: Take off the water tank, dry the exterior, and visually inspect for hairline cracks, especially near seams and handle.
- Check tank cap and gasket: Examine the cap seal (rubber or silicone ring). If it is cracked, flattened, or missing, replace the gasket or cap assembly.
- Test tank integrity: Fill the tank over a sink and set it upright on a dry surface. Look for drips from seams or cap area.
- Inspect base chamber: With the tank removed, check the base for cracks or warping. Any visible damage can cause leaks and usually requires base replacement.
- Correct seating: Ensure the tank is placed squarely on the base so that the valve opens correctly and seals against the base gasket.
Do not operate the humidifier until all leaks are resolved to avoid electrical hazards.
