Possible Causes

Failed digital humidity sensor module, Loose or oxidized humidity sensor connector, Damaged sensor cable from sensor to main PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect the appliance from mains power before opening the housing.

Diagnosis steps:

  • Reset the control electronics: Unplug for 10 minutes, then reconnect. If E2 returns immediately, proceed with inspection.
  • Locate the humidity sensor: On many Beurer humidifiers, the RH sensor is a small plastic module with vent holes, mounted near the air outlet or intake, connected by a 3–5 wire harness to the control board.
  • Check for contamination: Dust, limescale, or condensation can affect readings. Gently clean the sensor housing exterior with a dry, soft brush. Do not soak or spray liquids directly on the sensor.
  • Inspect wiring: Remove the base cover and trace the sensor cable to the PCB. Ensure the connector is fully seated and not corroded. Reseat the plug several times to wipe the contacts.
  • Visual damage: Look for cracked sensor housing, broken pins, or cut wires. Any visible damage usually requires replacement.
  • Replace the sensor: Order the correct Beurer humidity sensor module for your model (refer to the service or spare parts list). Disconnect the old module and install the new one, routing the cable as originally installed.

Note: If E2 persists after sensor replacement, the fault may be on the main PCB and should be handled by a qualified technician.
