Possible Causes
Ambient temperature below minimum or above maximum specified for the unit, Faulty NTC temperature sensor on evaporator, Sensor dislodged from coil surface
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Always unplug the dehumidifier before opening panels.
Basic checks:
- Verify room temperature: Use an external thermometer. Most Beurer dehumidifiers operate roughly between 5–32 °C. If the room is too cold or too hot, move the unit to a suitable environment and allow it to acclimate for 1–2 hours.
- Power reset: Unplug the unit for 10 minutes, then reconnect and test.
- Inspect the temperature sensor: Remove the front or side panel to access the evaporator coil. The NTC sensor is usually clipped to the coil with a metal or plastic clip.
- Check sensor placement: Ensure the sensor is firmly attached to the coil surface and has not fallen away, which can cause incorrect readings.
- Check wiring and connector: Trace the sensor wires to the control board. Reseat the connector and inspect for damage.
- Test the sensor (advanced): Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance at room temperature. Compare to service data if available. An open or shorted sensor must be replaced.
If E6 persists in a normal temperature environment after sensor replacement, the control board may be faulty and should be serviced by a professional.
