Possible Causes

Defective NTC sensor on evaporator for defrost control, Sensor not properly attached to coil, Damaged sensor wiring harness

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit before opening.

Procedure:

  • Allow defrost: If the unit was used in a very cold room, let it sit powered off for 1–2 hours to melt any ice on the evaporator. Restart and see if E8 clears.
  • Access the evaporator: Remove the front or side panel to expose the cold coil. Locate the small sensor clipped to the coil.
  • Check attachment: Ensure the sensor is firmly clipped to the metal surface. A loose sensor can misread temperature.
  • Inspect wiring: Follow the sensor wires to the PCB. Look for cuts, pinches, or loose connectors. Reseat the plug.
  • Replace sensor: If the sensor body is cracked or the wiring damaged, replace with the correct Beurer defrost sensor (NTC) for your model.

If E8 persists, the defrost control circuit on the PCB may be faulty and should be checked by a technician.
