Possible Causes
Worn or damaged membrane keypad, Moisture intrusion into control panel, Loose ribbon cable between keypad and PCB, Failed button input circuit on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before opening the control panel.
Steps:
- Dry panel: If the panel has been exposed to water, allow it to dry completely. Do not use the unit until dry.
- Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the front panel and check the ribbon cable connecting the keypad to the main PCB. Reseat the connector.
- Test buttons: With the panel open and unit unplugged, press each button and feel for a tactile click. Mushy or unresponsive buttons indicate a worn keypad.
- Replace keypad assembly: Install a new Bionaire display/keypad assembly. If the issue persists, the main control PCB may have a failed input circuit and should be replaced.
