Possible Causes
Blown internal fuse on main PCB, Faulty power cord, Failed main control PCB, Defective power switch or keypad
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before opening. If the cord is damaged, do not plug it back in until replaced.
Steps:
- Check outlet: Test the wall outlet with another appliance to confirm power is available.
- Inspect power cord: Look for cuts, kinks, or burn marks. Replace the cord set if damaged.
- Access main PCB: Remove the rear or side panel to reach the control board. Locate the input fuse (usually a glass or ceramic fuse).
- Test fuse: With a multimeter, check continuity across the fuse. If open, replace with the same type and rating. If it blows again immediately, there is a short that requires professional diagnosis.
- Check power switch/keypad: For models with a mechanical rocker switch, test continuity when switched on. Replace if faulty. For touch keypads, replacement of the display/control PCB is usually required if unresponsive.
- Replace main PCB: If power reaches the board but there is no response, replace the main control PCB.
