Water Leakage / Drainage Fault
Dehumidifier leaks water onto the floor instead of into the bucket or drain hose
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Clogged internal drain channel, Misrouted or kinked drain hose, Cracked water collection tray, Unit not level causing overflow
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and mop up any spilled water to prevent slipping.
Steps:
- Level the unit: Ensure the dehumidifier is on a flat, level surface. Adjust feet if provided.
- Inspect bucket and tray: Remove the bucket and inspect the internal water collection tray for cracks or misalignment.
- Clean drain channel: Locate the drain outlet inside the bucket compartment. Use a small brush or pipe cleaner to clear any slime or debris. Flush with warm water if possible.
- Check drain hose: If using a continuous drain hose, ensure it slopes downward with no kinks or loops. Verify the hose connection is tight and sealed.
- Test without hose: Temporarily remove the hose and operate with the bucket only. If leaking stops, the hose routing was the issue.
- Replace damaged parts: Replace any cracked trays or fittings that allow water to escape.
