Possible Causes

Corrupted firmware due to power surge, Failed EEPROM or microcontroller on main PCB, Poor low-voltage power supply regulation, Loose low-voltage harness to display board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit before opening the cabinet.

Steps:

  • Hard reset: Unplug the dehumidifier for 10–15 minutes. Press and hold the power button (if accessible) for 10 seconds while unplugged to help discharge capacitors. Plug back in and check if E9 clears.
  • Check supply voltage: Ensure the outlet provides stable voltage within the unit’s rating. Avoid extension cords or power strips.
  • Inspect control board: Access the main PCB and look for burnt components, bulging capacitors, or signs of moisture damage. If present, the board should be replaced.
  • Connector check: Reseat all low-voltage connectors between the main PCB and display/control panel.
  • Board replacement: If E9 persists, the main control PCB firmware or memory is corrupted. Replace the main control PCB with the correct Bionaire part number.
