Possible Causes
Any NTC sensor (ambient, evaporator, water temperature) open or shorted, Incorrect sensor type installed, Damaged sensor harness, Control board misreading sensor values
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before servicing.
Steps:
- Identify sensors: Locate all temperature sensors in the unit: ambient sensor near intake, evaporator sensor on coil, and any water temperature sensor near the collection bucket or reservoir.
- Check connections: One by one, unplug and replug each sensor connector on the main PCB. Inspect for corrosion or loose pins.
- Resistance check: With the unit unplugged, measure resistance of each sensor at room temperature. Sensors with 0 Ω or infinite resistance are defective and must be replaced.
- Match parts: Ensure replacement sensors are genuine or compatible Bionaire parts with the same resistance curve and connector.
- Control board: If all sensors test good and F0 persists, the main control PCB may be misinterpreting sensor signals and should be replaced.
