Possible Causes

Stuck float in water tank, Dirty or scaled water level sensor, Misaligned tank not engaging level switch, Failed reed switch or float magnet

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the humidifier before handling the water tank.

Steps:

  • Remove and inspect tank: Take out the water tank and inspect the float assembly (if visible). Ensure it moves freely up and down.
  • Clean float and chamber: Rinse the float chamber with warm water and mild vinegar to remove mineral deposits. Do not use harsh chemicals.
  • Check tank seating: Reinstall the tank, ensuring it is fully seated and properly aligned so that the float magnet can actuate the reed switch in the base.
  • Test switch (advanced): With the unit unplugged, access the base and locate the reed switch or water level sensor. Test continuity while moving a magnet near it. Replace if it does not change state.
  • Replace faulty parts: If cleaning and reseating do not clear F2, replace the float assembly or water level switch as a unit.
