Possible Causes

Failed ultrasonic transducer disc, Mineral scaling on transducer surface, Open or shorted transducer driver circuit, Loose wiring to transducer

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the humidifier and empty the tank. Never touch the transducer while the unit is powered.

Steps:

  • Access transducer: Remove the water tank and any covers over the base to expose the ultrasonic transducer (metal disc in the water well).
  • Descale: Gently clean the transducer surface with a cotton swab dipped in white vinegar, then wipe with clean water. Do not scratch the disc.
  • Inspect wiring: Check the wires from the control board to the transducer for damage or loose connectors. Reseat connectors.
  • Test operation: Reassemble, refill, and power on. If F3 persists and no mist is produced, the transducer or its driver circuit is likely defective.
  • Replace transducer module: Install a new Bionaire ultrasonic transducer assembly. If the error remains, replace the main control PCB that drives the transducer.
