Dehumidifier display shows HI and may run continuously

Safety: Unplug the unit before accessing internal components.

Steps:

• Verify environment: Use a separate hygrometer to confirm actual room humidity. In very damp spaces, HI may be normal and the unit will run continuously.
• Clean sensor: Access the humidity sensor near the intake or on the control panel. Gently clean with dry air or a soft brush to remove dust.
• Dry sensor: If the sensor has been directly exposed to water, allow it to dry completely before retesting.
• Replace sensor: If HI is displayed even in a dry room, replace the humidity sensor module.
• Control board: If a new sensor does not correct the reading, replace the main control PCB.
