LO
Bionaire Low Ambient Temperature Lockout

Dehumidifier display shows LO and unit does not dehumidify

Possible Causes

Room temperature below operating range, Faulty ambient temperature sensor reading too low, Unit placed near cold draft or unheated wall, Control board miscalibration

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: No internal service is required for basic checks; unplug before opening the cabinet.

Steps:

  • Check room temperature: Verify the room is within the specified operating range (typically above 5°C / 41°F). Move the unit to a warmer location if necessary.
  • Avoid cold drafts: Do not place the dehumidifier directly on cold concrete or next to exterior doors/windows where the sensor may read lower than actual room temperature.
  • Sensor check: If the room is warm but LO still shows, inspect and test the ambient temperature sensor as described under error E2. Replace if out of specification.
  • Control board: If a new sensor does not resolve the LO indication, the main control PCB may be misreading temperature and should be replaced.
