Humidifier powers on but produces no mist

Possible Causes

Empty or improperly seated water tank, Failed ultrasonic transducer, Mineral buildup on transducer, Faulty transducer driver circuit on PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the humidifier and empty the tank before inspection.

Steps:

  • Check tank: Ensure the water tank is full, the cap is tight, and the tank is properly seated on the base so that water flows into the reservoir.
  • Inspect transducer: Remove the tank and look at the ultrasonic transducer in the base. Clean any white mineral deposits with a vinegar-dampened cotton swab, then rinse.
  • Test operation: Refill and reinstall the tank, then power on. Look for ripples or fine bubbles at the transducer surface. If none, the transducer or driver may be faulty.
  • Replace transducer: Replace the ultrasonic transducer assembly with a compatible Bionaire part. If mist still does not form, the main control PCB likely needs replacement.
