Possible Causes
Loose or cracked fan blade, Debris caught in fan, Worn fan motor bearings, Loose mounting screws on fan housing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before working near the fan.
Steps:
- Inspect through grille: Look for foreign objects (plastic, paper, etc.) contacting the fan. Remove any debris.
- Access fan assembly: Remove the rear/front cover to expose the fan. Check that the fan blade is firmly attached to the motor shaft.
- Tighten hardware: Tighten any loose screws on the fan shroud or motor bracket.
- Check blade condition: If the blade is cracked or warped, replace the fan blade.
- Motor bearings: If the noise is a grinding or squeal from the motor itself, replace the fan motor assembly.
