Possible Causes
Loose or damaged communication cable between user interface and main PCB, Corroded connectors, Faulty display/control panel board, Failed main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before opening the cabinet or control panel.
Steps to resolve E6:
- Power reset: Unplug for 10 minutes, then plug back in. If E6 reappears, continue.
- Access control wiring: Remove the front bezel or top cover to expose the control panel and the main board area (refer to your model’s manual for screw locations).
- Inspect the ribbon cable/harness: Locate the multi-wire harness or flat ribbon cable connecting the display panel to the main control board. Ensure both ends are fully seated and locked.
- Check for damage: Look for kinks, cuts, or burn marks on the cable. Replace the control panel harness if any damage is found.
- Clean connectors: If there is visible oxidation, gently clean the connector pins with electronic contact cleaner and allow to dry before reconnecting.
- Board replacement: If wiring is intact and E6 persists, either the display/control panel board or the main control board is faulty. Replace one at a time, starting with the display board (usually less expensive), or have a technician diagnose.
