Possible Causes
Room temperature too low, Restricted airflow from dirty filter, Faulty defrost sensor, Defective defrost control on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug before defrosting or cleaning.
Steps:
- Defrost coil: Turn off the unit and allow all ice to melt. Place towels to catch water.
- Clean filter and grilles: Ensure unrestricted airflow.
- Check room temperature: Move the unit to a warmer area if the room is below about 10–12 °C.
- Inspect defrost sensor: Ensure the evaporator temperature sensor is firmly attached to the coil. Replace if defective (see E3 entry).
- If icing continues: The defrost control circuit on the main PCB may be faulty and require professional replacement.
