Humidifier shows 'C' or 'CLEAN' and may beep periodically

Note: This is usually a maintenance reminder, not a hardware failure.

Steps:

• Turn off and unplug: Always disconnect power before cleaning.
• Empty the tank and base: Remove the water tank and pour out any remaining water from the base.
• Descale the unit: Use BONECO descaler or a 1:1 mixture of white vinegar and water. Pour into the base so it covers the ultrasonic membrane or water tray. Let it soak for 30 minutes, then gently scrub with a soft brush. Do not scratch the membrane.
• Clean tank and accessories: Wash the tank with mild dish soap and water. Rinse thoroughly. Clean any evaporator mats or discs per the manual.
• Rinse thoroughly: Rinse all descaled parts with clean water to remove chemical residue.
• Reset the cleaning indicator: On most BONECO models, press and hold the clean or timer button (refer to your manual) for several seconds until the 'C' or 'CLEAN' symbol disappears.

If the indicator returns quickly, the unit may still be dirty or the timer may have been reset incorrectly. Repeat cleaning and reset steps.
