Possible Causes
Failed external humidity sensor probe, Broken sensor harness, Corroded connector from condensate exposure, Faulty main PCB analog input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before opening the cabinet.
Steps:
- Power reset: Unplug for 5 minutes and restart. If E5 returns immediately, proceed.
- Locate the humidity sensor: On BONECO dehumidifiers, the humidity sensor is often mounted near the air intake grille or on a small board behind the front panel.
- Inspect and clean: Check for visible corrosion or water droplets on the sensor. Gently dry and clean with a soft brush. Do not use aggressive cleaners.
- Check wiring: Ensure the sensor connector is firmly attached to the main PCB. Look for broken or frayed wires.
- Replace the sensor: If the sensor appears damaged or E5 persists, replace it with a compatible dehumidifier humidity sensor assembly for your BONECO model.
- If still faulty: The main PCB may not be reading the sensor correctly. Professional replacement of the main control board is recommended.
