Possible Causes
Loose connection between display PCB and main PCB, Damaged communication cable, Failed display board microcontroller, Main control board failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before removing any covers.
Steps:
- Check for simple reset: Unplug for 10 minutes, then plug back in. If E6 reappears, continue.
- Inspect control panel connections: Remove the front/top panel to access the display/control PCB. Locate the ribbon cable or harness connecting it to the main board.
- Reseat connectors: Carefully unplug and reinsert the ribbon cable at both ends. Ensure it is fully seated and not twisted or damaged.
- Check for moisture damage: Look for signs of condensation or corrosion on the display PCB. If present, gently clean with isopropyl alcohol and allow to dry completely.
- Test operation: Reassemble and power on. If E6 persists, one of the boards is likely defective.
- Board replacement: Replace the display/control PCB first if it is visibly damaged or if the buttons/LEDs behave erratically. If that does not resolve the issue, the main control PCB will need replacement, which is best handled by a service technician.
