How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before cleaning. Avoid inhaling dust or mold; consider wearing a mask and gloves.
Steps:
- Empty and clean tank: Wash the tank with warm water and mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly.
- Disinfect water path: Fill the base with a solution of water and BONECO cleaner or a small amount of unscented household bleach (per manual). Let sit for 20–30 minutes, then scrub and rinse thoroughly.
- Clean or replace evaporator mats and filters: Rinse evaporator mats under running water. Replace if heavily discolored or smelly. Clean or replace air filters.
- Clean internal surfaces: Wipe accessible plastic surfaces and ducts with a cloth dampened with mild detergent solution. Do not soak electrical parts.
- Dry thoroughly: Allow components to dry before reassembly.
- Prevent recurrence: Use fresh water daily and perform regular cleaning as recommended in the BONECO manual.
