Possible Causes
Mineral buildup on ultrasonic membrane, Clogged mist outlet or nozzle, Dirty evaporator mat (hybrid models), Fan running at reduced speed due to dust or wear
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off and unplug the unit before cleaning.
Steps:
- Clean the transducer: Descale the ultrasonic membrane with BONECO descaler or vinegar solution as described in the no-mist entry.
- Clean mist outlet: Remove any mist nozzle or outlet cover and rinse under warm water. Use a soft brush to remove deposits from the mist channel.
- Check and clean evaporator mats: On BONECO hybrid models (e.g., H300, H400), remove the evaporator mat cassette and rinse thoroughly. Replace mats if they are stiff, discolored, or have an odor.
- Inspect fan and air path: Open the housing and gently vacuum dust from the fan blades and air channels. Ensure the fan spins freely by hand.
- Test again: Reassemble and run at maximum output. If mist remains weak, the fan motor or transducer driver may be failing and require replacement.
