Boneco
False Low-Water Detection
Humidifier shuts off unexpectedly even though the tank is full
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Sticking float in base, Misaligned tank not pressing valve correctly, Faulty water level sensor or reed switch, Debris preventing water from entering base
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug before handling water components.
Steps:
- Reseat the tank: Remove and reinstall the tank carefully, ensuring it is fully seated and level.
- Check for air lock: After filling, gently shake the tank to release trapped air around the valve. Ensure water flows into the base (look for bubbles).
- Clean float and chamber: Remove the tank and inspect the float in the base. Clean any scale or slime that may cause sticking.
- Test float switch: Manually lift the float and listen for a click from the reed switch. If there is no click or the unit does not respond, the switch may be faulty.
- Replace faulty parts: Install a new float and reed switch assembly if the sensor is defective.
