Possible Causes
Burnt fan motor winding, Seized fan bearings, Faulty fan capacitor, Obstruction in fan blades
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before working near the fan or motor.
Steps:
- 1. Check for obstructions: Remove the front/rear grille and inspect the fan blades for debris or foreign objects. Clear any blockage.
- 2. Spin test: Gently spin the fan by hand. It should rotate freely. If stiff or seized, the motor bearings may have failed.
- 3. Inspect capacitor: Many Camry dehumidifiers use a fan run capacitor. Look for bulging or leaking. Replace with the same capacitance and voltage rating if defective.
- 4. Test motor windings: Use a multimeter to check resistance across the fan motor leads. An open circuit indicates a failed motor.
- 5. Replace fan motor: Install a new Camry condenser/evaporator fan motor, transferring the fan blade to the new shaft and securing it properly.
Warning: Do not run the compressor without a working fan; this can cause overheating and compressor damage.
