Possible Causes

Failed evaporator NTC sensor, Loose or oxidized sensor connector on PCB, Sensor wire damaged by ice or rubbing on fan

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect the Camry dehumidifier from power before removing any panels.

Steps:

  • 1. Allow ice to melt: If the coil is iced over, let the unit sit unplugged until all ice melts. Then recheck for E2. If the code remains, continue.
  • 2. Access the evaporator: Remove the front or rear cover to expose the evaporator coil (cold aluminum fins). The evaporator NTC sensor is usually clipped or taped directly to the coil tubing.
  • 3. Inspect sensor and wiring: Look for broken insulation, pulled wires, or a sensor that has fallen off the coil. Ensure the sensor is firmly attached to the tubing or fins.
  • 4. Test the sensor: Disconnect the sensor from the main PCB. Measure resistance with a multimeter. At room temperature, it should be in the expected NTC range (often 5–20 kΩ). Infinite or near-zero resistance indicates a bad sensor.
  • 5. Replace sensor if needed: Install a new Camry evaporator NTC sensor. Clip or tape it securely to the same coil location for accurate defrost sensing. Route the cable away from the fan blades.
  • 6. Check connector on PCB: Clean and reseat the connector on the control board. Ensure pins are not bent or corroded.
  • 7. Reassemble and test: Refit covers, plug in, and run the unit. E2 should clear if the sensor and wiring are correct.

Note: If E2 persists with a known-good sensor, the main control PCB may be defective.
