Possible Causes
Failed digital humidity sensor module, Broken humidity sensor harness, Corroded sensor connector on display PCB or main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the Camry unit before opening the control panel or housing.
Steps:
- 1. Reset control: Disconnect power for 5–10 minutes, then reconnect. If E3 reappears immediately, proceed.
- 2. Locate humidity sensor: On many Camry dehumidifiers, the humidity sensor is behind the front grille or integrated into the control panel area, often in a small plastic housing with vents.
- 3. Inspect sensor and wiring: Remove the control panel cover. Look for a small PCB or module labeled as RH or humidity sensor. Check for moisture damage, corrosion, or broken wires.
- 4. Clean sensor area: If there is dust buildup, gently clean around the sensor with a soft brush and compressed air. Do not soak the sensor in liquid.
- 5. Check connections: Reseat the sensor connector on the display PCB or main PCB. Clean contacts with electrical contact cleaner if corroded.
- 6. Replace sensor module: If E3 persists, replace the Camry humidity sensor module with the correct part for your model. Mount it in the same location to ensure accurate room humidity readings.
- 7. Reassemble and test: Reinstall the control panel, plug in, and verify that the E3 code is cleared and that humidity readings change when the environment changes.
Tip: Avoid placing the unit where steam or direct water spray can reach the control panel, as this can shorten sensor life.
