Possible Causes
Dirty water tank, Biofilm on internal surfaces, Contaminated filter or wick (if equipped)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before cleaning. Avoid harsh chemicals that can leave residues.
Steps:
- 1. Empty tank: Discard any standing water from the Camry humidifier tank.
- 2. Clean tank and base: Wash the tank with warm water and mild detergent. For stubborn odors, soak with a solution of 1 part white vinegar to 3 parts water for 30 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.
- 3. Disinfect surfaces: Wipe the base and water-contact surfaces with a diluted bleach solution (per manufacturer guidelines), then rinse and dry.
- 4. Replace filters/wicks: If your model uses a humidifier wick filter or antibacterial cartridge, replace it according to Camry’s schedule.
- 5. Dry between uses: When not in use, empty the tank and allow the unit to dry to prevent regrowth.
Note: Never add essential oils or fragrances unless the manual explicitly allows it; they can damage plastic and internal parts.
