Possible Causes
Worn membrane keypad, Moisture ingress into control panel, Loose ribbon cable to display PCB, Faulty touch sensor IC
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before opening the control panel.
Steps:
- 1. Dry the panel: If the panel was exposed to moisture, allow it to dry completely in a warm, dry room.
- 2. Clean surface: Wipe the keypad area with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use excessive liquid cleaners.
- 3. Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the control panel cover and check the ribbon cable between the keypad and display PCB. Reseat both ends.
- 4. Test buttons: With the panel open (and power reconnected carefully if necessary), test button response. If some buttons never work, the keypad membrane is likely faulty.
- 5. Replace keypad or display PCB: Install a new Camry control panel keypad or complete display PCB assembly as required.
Warning: Take care to avoid contact with live circuits if testing with power applied. If unsure, disconnect power and perform only visual checks.
