Possible Causes
Clogged drain outlet on bucket, Kinked or improperly sloped drain hose, Cracked bucket, Misaligned bucket not sealing to drain spout
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before handling water or removing the bucket.
Steps:
- 1. Remove and inspect bucket: Check for cracks or damage. Ensure the bucket is the original Carrier part and fits snugly.
- 2. Clean drain outlet: Use a small brush or pipe cleaner to clear any slime or debris from the bucket drain port and cabinet drain spout.
- 3. Check drain hose: If using continuous drain, ensure the hose slopes downward all the way to the drain and is not kinked or submerged at the end. Flush with hot water to remove buildup.
- 4. Reseat bucket: Reinstall the bucket fully until it clicks or sits flush. An improperly seated bucket can cause leaks around the seal.
Note: If the bucket is cracked, replace it with the correct Carrier bucket assembly to ensure proper fit and float operation.
