How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit. Avoid inhaling dust or mold; consider wearing a mask and gloves.
Steps:
- 1. Clean bucket: Wash the water bucket with warm water and mild detergent. Disinfect with a diluted bleach solution (1 tablespoon bleach per gallon of water), then rinse thoroughly.
- 2. Clean filter: Wash or replace the air filter according to Carrier’s instructions.
- 3. Clean coils: Access the evaporator coil and gently clean with a soft brush and a non-corrosive coil cleaner safe for aluminum. Do not bend fins.
- 4. Improve ventilation: After cleaning, run the unit in a well-ventilated area to help dry internal surfaces.
