Possible Causes

Loose fan blade, Worn fan motor bearings, Loose compressor mounting grommets, Cabinet panels vibrating against frame

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit before touching internal parts. Keep fingers clear of fan blades.

Steps:

  • 1. Level the unit: Ensure the dehumidifier is on a flat, solid surface. Use shims if necessary.
  • 2. Inspect fan assembly: Remove the cover and check that the fan blade is tight on the motor shaft and not contacting the shroud. Tighten or reposition as needed.
  • 3. Check motor bearings: Spin the fan by hand. If you hear grinding or feel roughness, the motor bearings are worn and the motor should be replaced.
  • 4. Compressor mounts: Inspect the rubber grommets under the compressor. If they are cracked or missing, vibration will transfer to the cabinet. Replace grommets if accessible.
  • 5. Tighten panels: Tighten any loose screws on the cabinet and add foam tape between vibrating metal surfaces if needed.
