Possible Causes
Out-of-calibration humidity sensor, Sensor contamination from dust or chemicals, Failed humidity sensor module, Control board RH input fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before accessing the control area.
Steps:
- 1. Compare humidity readings: Place a reliable hygrometer near the dehumidifier intake. If the unit’s display differs by more than 10–15% RH, the sensor may be out of calibration.
- 2. Clean sensor area: Gently blow dry compressed air across the humidity sensor to remove dust. Do not touch the sensor element with fingers or liquids.
- 3. Reseat connector: Disconnect and reconnect the humidity sensor harness at the main board.
- 4. Replace sensor: If F1 persists or readings remain inaccurate, replace the humidity sensor with the correct Carrier part.
- 5. Control board replacement: If a new sensor does not resolve F1, the main control board may be defective and should be replaced.
