Possible Causes
Full water bucket, Misaligned bucket not engaging switch, Kinked or blocked drain hose, Faulty bucket full float switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before removing the bucket or working near water.
Steps:
- 1. Empty bucket: Remove the water bucket, empty it completely, and reinstall it firmly. Ensure it is seated correctly so the bucket full switch is depressed.
- 2. Check drain hose (if used): If you are using continuous drain, make sure the hose is not kinked, elevated above the outlet, or blocked. Flush the hose with water to clear any clogs.
- 3. Inspect bucket float: Verify that the float inside the bucket moves freely and is not stuck in the up position.
- 4. Test bucket switch: With the unit unplugged and bucket removed, locate the bucket full switch and press it manually. You should hear a click. If it feels loose or broken, it may need replacement.
- 5. Replace faulty parts: Install a new Carrier bucket full switch or bucket/float assembly if damaged.
Note: P2 is often a normal indication that the bucket is full. If it appears with an empty bucket, focus on the switch and float mechanisms.
