Insufficient Humidifier Output
Whole-home Carrier humidifier does not add moisture even though it appears to run.

Possible Causes
Water supply valve partially closed, Clogged water distribution tray or pad, Incorrect humidifier damper position, Low furnace run time
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off furnace power and shut off humidifier water supply before opening the humidifier cabinet.
Steps:
- 1. Check water flow: Open the water supply valve fully. With the furnace calling for heat and humidifier on, verify that water flows through the pad and drains out.
- 2. Replace water panel: Carrier bypass and fan-powered humidifiers use an evaporative pad. Replace the pad annually or if it is clogged with mineral deposits.
- 3. Verify damper position: Ensure the bypass damper (if present) is in the WINTER or OPEN position during heating season.
- 4. Check settings: Confirm the humidistat or thermostat humidity setting is appropriate for outdoor temperature.
