How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug before opening the control panel.
Steps:
- Dry the panel: If the panel has been exposed to water, allow it to dry completely for 24 hours in a warm, dry place.
- Access control panel: Remove screws securing the top/control housing and gently lift to expose the keypad and PCB.
- Check ribbon cable: Reseat the cable between the keypad and main PCB.
- Inspect for corrosion: Look for green/white deposits on contacts. Light corrosion can sometimes be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush.
- Replace panel: If buttons remain unresponsive, replace the control panel PCB or keypad assembly specific to your Challenge model.
