How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect from mains before opening the control housing.
Steps:
- Remove control panel bezel: Unscrew and gently lift the top/control cover to access the display board and its ribbon cable.
- Inspect the ribbon cable: Ensure it is fully seated at both ends (display board and main PCB). Look for kinks, cuts, or burn marks.
- Clean connectors: Carefully unplug the ribbon cable and use a dry, soft brush or electronics contact cleaner (applied to a cloth, not directly) to clean the contacts. Reinsert firmly.
- Check for moisture: If condensation or water has entered the control area, dry thoroughly before reassembly.
- Test operation: Reassemble the panel, plug in, and power on. If E6 persists, the display/control PCB may be defective.
- Replace control panel PCB if needed: Order a compatible Challenge control panel PCB for your exact model. Swap the board, transferring any button membranes or light pipes as required.
