Possible Causes

Failed digital humidity sensor module behind front grille, Contaminated sensor from dust or moisture, Loose or oxidized connector between humidity sensor and PCB, Faulty signal processing circuit on main control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit before removing the front panel or control panel.

  • Soft reset: Disconnect power for 5–10 minutes, then reconnect. If E3 reappears, the humidity sensor circuit is likely at fault.
  • Locate humidity sensor: Remove the front grille and air filter. On many Comfee units, the humidity sensor is a small module near the air intake or behind the control panel, with a small vented plastic housing and a 2–4 wire harness.
  • Clean sensor area: Use compressed air or a soft brush to remove dust and lint from the sensor vents. Do not spray liquids directly on the sensor.
  • Check wiring: Inspect the harness for damage and ensure the connector is fully seated on the main PCB. Reseat the connector.
  • Replace sensor module: If E3 persists, replace the Comfee humidity sensor module with the correct part for your model. Mount it in the same orientation so it is exposed to room air, not coil air.
  • Board replacement: If a new sensor does not resolve E3, the main control board's sensor input is likely defective and the PCB should be replaced.
