Safety first: Unplug the unit and empty all water before cleaning. Avoid inhaling cleaning fumes directly.

  • 1. Disassemble for cleaning:
    • Remove the tank, mist lid, and any removable parts.
  • 2. Sanitize tank and base:
    • Wash the tank with mild dish soap and warm water.
    • Disinfect with a solution of 1 teaspoon of unscented household bleach per gallon of water; let sit 20 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.
    • Wipe the base reservoir with vinegar or a manufacturer-approved disinfectant, avoiding the transducer disc.
  • 3. Clean mist outlet:
    • Scrub the mist outlet and chimney with a small brush.
  • 4. Use fresh water:
    • Refill with fresh, preferably distilled water to reduce mineral and microbial growth.
